When the battery of a gas generator set is not in use for a long time, appropriate charging must be provided before use to ensure the normal capacity of the battery. (The actual capacity of the battery can be detected through a hydrometer) Normal operation and charging can cause some water in the battery to evaporate, which requires frequent replenishment of the battery. Before replenishment, the dirt around the filling port should be cleaned to prevent it from falling into the battery compartment. Then, the filling port should be opened and an appropriate amount of distilled or purified water should be added. Do not overfill (based on the battery plate scale). Otherwise, during battery discharge/charging, The electrolyte inside the diesel engine will gush out from the overflow hole of the filling port, causing corrosion damage to surrounding objects and the environment.

避免電瓶在低溫下啟動機組，低溫環境下電瓶容量將無法正常輸出，且長時間放電有可能造成電瓶故障（開裂或爆炸）。

Avoid starting the unit with the battery at low temperatures, as the battery capacity will not be able to output normally in low temperature environments, and prolonged discharge may cause battery failure (cracking or explosion).

備用發電機組電瓶應定期對電瓶進行維護充電，可配備浮充電器。

1、用濕布把電瓶外部擦洗一下，把面板上、樁頭上(即正負兩個極頭)的灰塵、油污、白色粉末等易造成漏電污物擦拭干凈。這樣經常擦洗電瓶，電瓶的樁頭不會積白色的酸蝕粉末，其使用壽命會比較長。

1. Wipe the exterior of the battery with a damp cloth to remove dust, oil, white powder, and other debris that may cause leakage on the panel and pile head (i.e. positive and negative pole heads). Frequently scrubbing the battery in this way will prevent the pile head of the battery from accumulating white acid corrosion powder, and its service life will be relatively long.

2、打開電瓶加水蓋，看看水位是否在正常的位置。一般在電瓶側邊會有上、下限的標線來供你參考。如發現水位低于下標線，就須添加蒸餾水，如果一下拿不到蒸餾水，則可用過濾自來水來應急。水不可加太多，標準是加到上下標線中間。

2. Open the water cap of the battery and check if the water level is at the normal position. Generally, there will be upper and lower limit markings on the side of the battery for your reference. If the water level is found to be below the lower mark, distilled water must be added. If distilled water cannot be obtained immediately, filtered tap water can be used as an emergency measure. Do not add too much water, the standard is to add it to the middle of the upper and lower markings.

3、檢查一下電池是否充電正常。如果你有三用電表，在起動發動機后，量一下電瓶兩極的電壓，須超過13V以上才算正常。發現充電電壓過低，就需要請人員檢修一下充電系統了。如果沒有三用電表，可用目測法:發動機起動后，打開電瓶加水蓋，看看每一小格里面有沒有冒氣泡。正常的狀況是不斷有氣泡冒出水面，而且愈加油會冒得愈多；如果你發現沒有冒泡，那很可能就是充電系統有毛病了。特別注意的是做此項檢驗時會有氫氣產生，因此檢驗時千萬不可抽煙，以免發生爆炸起火的危險。

3. Check if the battery is charging properly. If you have a three way electricity meter, measure the voltage at both poles of the battery after starting the engine. It must exceed 13V to be considered normal. If the charging voltage is found to be too low, it is necessary to have professional personnel inspect the charging system. If there is no three way electricity meter, visual inspection can be used: after the engine starts, open the battery water cap and check if there are any bubbles inside each small cell. The normal situation is that bubbles constantly emerge from the water surface, and the more fuel is added, the more bubbles will emerge; If you find no bubbles, it is likely that there is something wrong with the charging system. Special attention should be paid to the generation of hydrogen gas during this inspection, so smoking is strictly prohibited during the inspection to avoid the risk of explosion and fire.
