Some users adopt the method of starting first and then adding cooling water in the summer. But I don't know that this type of method is harmful to the crew without any benefits. There is no cooling water inside the engine body. After starting the engine dry, various components quickly heat up, especially at the water jacket outside the cylinder head and fuel injector.
